Merida Mayor Cecilia Patron inaugurates the First Comprehensive Club for Senior Citizens in the south of Mérida
This is the first of ten centers of this type which will open gradually in different areas of the city.
“We fulfilled a promise made to senior citizens, to create these spaces, these clubs where they can exercise, where they come to share experiences, where they occupy themselves with positive things, they will have various classes and they will also have a medical record that we will take to take care of their health,” said Cecilia Patrón Laviada.
Located in the Roble Agrícola neighborhood, in the south of the city, this center is the first of ten that the City Council, through the Municipal DIF, plans to open gradually in different areas for the care of the physical and emotional health of senior citizens.
The first Comprehensive Club for Senior Citizens offers specialized care in geriatrics, occupational, recreational, and cultural activities such as art workshops, gymnastics, yoga, Tai Chi, dance, and cultural events that help foster coexistence and recreation, as well as promote comprehensive development and dignified life for people.
The Center will start with activities taking place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 to 11 in the morning.
