A worker died tragically after falling from the elevated viaduct of the port of Progreso, which is 22 meters (70 feet) high.
According to the events, shortly after noon at the intersection of 80th and 91st streets, an unknown employee was casting a pipe in the upper part.
Two versions are circulating: that the section where he was working collapsed and he fell into the void, and the second, that his safety harness broke, which was not properly attached.
Therefore he fell from a height of more than 20 meters, receiving a brutal blow, and losing his life instantly.
The Emergency Medical Technicians only confirmed the death of the poor man, called in these works the “assemblers” of the pillars or bases of the overpass.
