The First Lady of the United States visited Frida Kahlo’s Casa Azul

Dr. Jill Biden took advantage of her stay in Mexico City to visit the Frida Kahlo Museum, also known as the Casa Azul (Blue House), this Wednesday, October 2, according to authorities at the facility located in Coyoacán.

For this tour that reflected the connection between history, art, and Mexicanness, the wife of President Joe Biden was accompanied by the United States Ambassador to Mexico, Ken Salazar.

It was there that they had the opportunity to learn up close the life, work, and legacy of Frida Kahlo, one of the most representative figures of Mexican and world art, accompanied by Mtra. Perla Labarthe, Director of the Frida Kahlo Museum, and members of the United States Delegation in Mexico.

The First Lady of the United States signed the book of distinguished visitors of The Blue House.

According to the directors of the facility, these visits are an opportunity to continue promoting the mission of the Banco de México Trust, which aims to preserve and disseminate the legacy of both Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. The support of this institution has been crucial to keeping the memory of these great artists alive and ensuring that their work continues to inspire future generations.
